Description
Polydeck® 100 Pedestrian Traffic Deck System is a liquid-applied, moisture-cured, polyurethane waterproofing system is ideal for light service. The system utilizes an epoxy primer, one coat of a low-odor aromatic polyurethane basecoat, one intermediate coat of a low- odor aromatic polyurethane with aggregate, and one aliphatic polyurethane topcoat.
Material Use:
Polydeck 100 is a liquid-applied, moisture-cured, polyurethane waterproofing system designed specifically for pedestrian traffic decks subjected to light service. Its primary function is to provide a seamless, elastomeric, recoatable, and waterproof membrane that adapts to structural movements.
System Components:
This is a full system composed of:
· Primer: Polyprime 2180SC or Polyprime EBF-LV (depending on substrate and porosity)
· Base Coat: PC-220 (applied in two layers, one plain and one with broadcast aggregate)
· Topcoat: Polyglaze 100 or Polyglaze AL-50 (aliphatic polyurethane)
Applications:
This system is best suited for:
· Balconies
· Patios
· Sun Decks
· Walkways
It can be applied to both concrete and plywood substrates that are properly prepared and meet specific strength and finish requirements.
Application Details:
· Phase 1: Joint treatment using PC-260 and reinforcing tape over cracks and joints.
· Phase 2: Priming with:
o Polyprime 2180SC for metal and smooth concrete: 1 gal/300 ft²
o Polyprime EBF-LV for porous concrete: 1 gal/200 ft²
· Phase 3: Basecoat PC-220: 2 gal/100 ft² for 22 ± 2 dry mils
· Phase 4: Second coat of PC-220: 0.75 gal/100 ft² with broadcast 20-mesh silica sand
· Phase 5: Topcoat (Polyglaze 100 or AL-50): 1 gal/100 ft², yielding 10 ± 2 dry mils
Special Notes:
· Pot Life & Curing:
o Standard curing: PC-220 and Polyglaze require recoat within 24 hours.
o Fast-cure option available:
§ Add PC-50 to PC-220 for a 3–5 hour cure
§ Add Polyglaze Hardener to topcoat for a 2–4 hour cure
· Environmental Conditions:
o Apply between 60°F to 95°F (15°C to 35°C)
o At least 5°F above dew point
o Avoid application in areas with high moisture or hydrostatic pressure
· Substrate Limits:
o Not suitable for on-grade slabs, unvented metal pans, magnesite, or concrete < 3000 psi
· Thickness:
o Total system: 40 ± 5 dry mils (1016 ± 125 microns), excluding aggregate
· UV Stability:
o Topcoats Polyglaze 100 and AL-50 are aliphatic polyurethanes, which offer UV stability
· Coverage (by component):
o Primers: 200–300 ft²/gal depending on substrate
o Basecoat PC-220:
§ First coat: 2 gal/100 ft²
§ Second coat: 0.75 gal/100 ft²
o Topcoat: 1 gal/100 ft²
Shelf Life:
All components have a 1-year shelf life when stored in original sealed containers at 60–95°F.
