Description
The Polydeck® 150/150SC Pedestrian Traffic Deck System is a liquid-applied is a liquid-applied, moisture-cured, polyurethane waterproofing system for everyday use. The system utilizes an epoxy primer, one coat of an aromatic polyurethane basecoat, one intermediate coat of an aromatic polyurethane with aggregate, and one aliphatic polyurethane topcoat.
Material Use:
Polydeck 150/150SC is a liquid-applied, moisture-cured, polyurethane-based waterproofing system designed for pedestrian deck protection. It is elastomeric, seamless, and recoatable, and it provides durable protection against spalling, freeze/thaw cycles, chemical exposure, and weathering. It is intended for decks subject to everyday use and structural movement.
System Components:
· Primer: Polyprime 2180SC (standard) or Polyprime EBF-LV (for porous concrete/outgassing concerns)
· Joint/Crack Treatment: PC-260 (also used for crack filling, sloping, and repairs)
· Basecoat: PC-220/220SC (aromatic polyurethane)
· Intermediate Coat: Polyglaze AR or AR-OF with sand broadcast (provides texture and durability)
· Topcoat: Polyglaze 100/100C/100SC or AL-50/AL-50SC (aliphatic polyurethane for UV protection and color finish)
Applications:
Ideal for balconies, patios, sun decks, and walkways where waterproofing and pedestrian durability are required.
Application Details:
· Primer Coverage:
o Polyprime 2180SC: 1 gal/300 ft² (4 dry mils)
o Polyprime EBF-LV: 1 gal/200 ft² (for porous substrates)
· Basecoat Application: 2 gal/100 ft² (50 ft²/gal), 22 ± 2 dry mils
· Intermediate Coat (Polyglaze AR/AR-OF): 1.25 gal/100 ft² (80 ft²/gal), 15 ± 2 dry mils
o Broadcast with 20 lbs/100 ft² of 20-mesh sand
· Topcoat (Polyglaze 100 or AL-50): 1.25 gal/100 ft² (80 ft²/gal), 15 ± 2 dry mils
· Full System Thickness: 52 ± 5 dry mils (1321 ± 125 microns), exclusive of aggregate
Special Notes:
· Curing and Pot Life:
o Basecoat cure can be accelerated to 3–5 hours with PC-50 at 75°F (24°C)
o Topcoat cure time can be shortened to 2–4 hours with Polyglaze Hardener
· Recoating Window: 12 hours after cure (must be re-primed if exceeded)
· Substrate Requirements:
o Concrete must have a minimum compressive strength of 3000 psi and be cured for 28 days
o Plywood must be APA-rated exterior grade and applied over a properly sloped and cleaned surface
· Installation Conditions:
o Application should occur at least 5°F (3°C) above dew point
o Not suitable for on-grade slabs, slabs with hydrostatic pressure, or unvented metal pan substrates
· UV Stability:
o Final topcoats (Polyglaze 100/100SC and AL-50/AL-50SC) are UV stable
· Material Sensitivity:
o Uncured materials are sensitive to heat and moisture
· Clean-Up:
Use urethane-grade, environmentally safe solvent immediately after application
