Description
Polyeuro® 7901 is a fast setting, rapid curing, 100% solids, flexible, aliphatic, color stable, two component spray polyurea that can be applied to suitably prepared interior or exterior concrete and metal surfaces.
Material Use:
Polyeuro 7901 is a two-component, 100% solids, aliphatic polyurea protective coating developed by Polycoat Products. It is color stable, flexible, fast-setting, and spray-applied. This material offers excellent performance for both interior and exterior applications on concrete and metal surfaces.
Polyeuro 7901 is designed for high-performance protection in demanding environments including cold-storage facilities, food-processing plants, industrial and manufacturing areas, offshore platforms, and parking garages. Its fast cure and low-temperature installation capabilities make it ideal for time-sensitive or low-temperature environments.
System Components:
Polyeuro 7901 is used as a standalone topcoat or protective membrane, but for applications involving deteriorated concrete or voids, Polycoat recommends using PC-260 or a mix of Polyprime 21 and sand as a repair base prior to priming and topcoating. On metal surfaces, primers are required depending on substrate (e.g., galvanized steel, aluminum, stainless steel). All primers and repair compounds should be fully cured before applying Polyeuro 7901.
Applications:
This coating is suitable for various industrial and commercial structures including structural steel, marine environments, walkways, balconies, and power plants. It is applied with heated plural component spray systems and is effective both with and without reinforcement in transitional areas.
Application Details:
· Mix Ratio: 1A:1B by volume.
· Pot Life: 10–20 seconds @ 150°F (65.5°C), 50% RH.
· Tack-Free Time: 60–180 seconds.
· Recoat Window: 0–6 hours.
· Foot Traffic Return: 2–4 hours.
· Full Service Cure: 10–24 hours.
· Recommended Applied Thickness: >2 mm.
· Coverage: 1 mil thickness covers 1600 sq.ft per gallon. Use the formula: (1600 sq.ft / Dry mil thickness) × Solids content to estimate required volume.
· Spray Parameters: Minimum 2000 psi and 150°F (66°C) on both components. Substrates must be at least 5°F above dew point.
· Surface Prep: Varies by substrate. Concrete should meet ICRI CSP 3–5 profile. Metals require blast cleaning (e.g., SSPC-SP10/NACE 2 for steel). Specific primers are recommended based on substrate type (contact Polycoat for recommendations on aluminum, stainless steel, galvanized metal, and others).
Special Notes:
· UV Resistance: Excellent; suitable for exterior use with no cracking or blistering after 2000 hrs QUV exposure (minor gloss loss/chalking observed).
· Elongation: 450 ± 50%.
· Hardness: 90 ± 5 Shore A.
· Tensile Strength: 3200 ± 200 psi.
· Tear Strength: 325 ± 50 pli.
· Service Temperatures: -40°F to 250°F dry, 40°F to 120°F wet.
· VOC Content: 0 g/L (Zero VOC).
· Humidity & Moisture: Relatively insensitive, but surface must be dry during application.
· Shelf Life: 12 months at 60–95°F (15–35°C) in unopened containers.
· Storage: Avoid freezing. Store above 60°F on pallets.
