Description

Polyglaze® 100/100C/100SC is a polyester, aliphatic, single component, liquid applied, moisture cured, polyurethane topcoat for waterproofing membrane systems.

Material Use

Polyglaze 100, Polyglaze 100C, and Polyglaze 100SC are Single-component, aliphatic, moisture-cured polyurethane topcoats.

These materials serve as durable, UV-resistant topcoats within polyurethane waterproofing membrane systems, suitable for high-traffic applications and re-sealing existing polyurethane surfaces.

System Components

Polyglaze 100/100C/100SC are typically used as topcoats over base coats within Polycoat waterproofing systems. For seal coat applications, they require a primer—Polyprime U—to ensure proper adhesion. The optional Polyglaze Hardener can be added to accelerate curing.

Applications

These topcoats are designed for use over concrete, plywood, metal, wood, or masonry surfaces, especially in areas exposed to heavy pedestrian or vehicular traffic. Suitable for exterior decks and walkways, including re-coating existing polyurethane membranes.

Application Details

Application should be done using an airless sprayer or phenolic resin core roller, avoiding air entrapment. Coverage is approximately 1 gallon per 100 sq. ft., with a dry film thickness of 10–12 mils depending on the variant. When used as a clear seal coat, the surface must be clean, dry, and primed with Polyprime U. Multiple coats may be necessary; re-coating must occur within 48 hours or require re-priming. Accelerated curing (6–8 hours) can be achieved by adding 1 quart of Polyglaze Hardener per 5 gallons.

Special Notes

·       Pot Life is not explicitly stated but material should be applied soon after opening due to moisture curing.

·       Cure Time: 16 hours between coats at 75°F and 50% RH; Full cure for heavy traffic is 72 hours.

·       If re-coating exceeds 48 hours, re-prime with Polyprime U.

·       Environmental Limits: Do not apply to split slabs, buried membranes, sandwich slabs, magnesite, or unvented metal pans. On-grade slabs require a moisture vapor transmission test.

·       Temperature Range for Storage: 60–95°F (15–35°C).

·       UV Stability: UV-resistant; retains gloss and weatherability.

·       VOC Levels: Vary by product – Polyglaze 100 (340 g/L), 100C (250 g/L), and 100SC (100 g/L).

·       Thickness: Dry film per coat: Polyglaze 100 = 10±2 mils, 100C = 11±2 mils, 100SC = 12±2 mils.

·       Not recommended for use over asphalt without consulting the manufacturer.

·       Cleanup: Use VOC-compliant, environmentally safe solvents immediately after use.
