Polyglaze 302

Polyglaze^® 302 is an economical, aliphatic, single component, liquid applied, moisture cured, polyurethane surface protection coating.

 Polyglaze 302 is a single-component, liquid-applied, moisture-cured aliphatic polyurethane topcoat designed for surface protection. It is especially formulated for applications requiring color retention and UV stability. Typical installations include protective topcoats for foam insulation and wine storage tanks.

 Polyglaze 302 serves as the topcoat in a coating system. For multi-layer systems, if more than 48 hours elapse between coats, the surface must be re-primed using Polyprime U to ensure proper adhesion. An optional Polyglaze Hardener can be added to accelerate curing times.

 This coating is intended for both indoor and outdoor use on appropriately prepared surfaces, including specific foam and storage tank structures. Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of foreign materials. The product is not suitable for split slabs, buried membranes, sandwich slabs with insulation, or non-structural lightweight concrete. Asphalt surfaces require prior consultation with the technical department.

·       Coverage: Approximately 1 gallon per 100 square feet (0.41 L/m²).

·       Recommended Tools: Airless sprayer or phenolic core roller, with care to avoid air entrapment.

·       Dry Film Thickness: 11 ± 2 mils per coat.

·       Recoat Window: Within 48 hours. If exceeded, re-prime with Polyprime U.

·       Curing Time:

o   Without accelerator: 16 hours per coat at 75°F (24°C) and 50% RH.

o   With accelerator: Cures in 6–8 hours; recoat window reduced to 24 hours.

o   Light pedestrian traffic after 24 hours, heavy traffic after 72 hours.

·       Mixing: Use a mechanical mixer at slow speed until uniform. Avoid vertical (up-and-down) motion.

·       Environmental Limits: Ideal application temperature is between 60–95°F (15–35°C). High humidity or temperatures accelerate cure, while lower values delay it.

·       UV Stability: Polyglaze 302 is UV stable and offers excellent color retention and weatherability.

·       Shelf Life: 1 year in factory-sealed containers when stored indoors.

·       VOC Compliance: <2.08 lb/gal or <250 g/L, depending on regulatory zone.

·       Clean-Up: Use an environmentally safe solvent immediately after use.

·       Safety: Contains isocyanates and solvents; classified as a flammable liquid (DOT UN 1263, Class 3, PG III).
