Description
Polyliner 700 is a multifunctional phenol novolac resin that is extremely chemical resistant with a high heat deflection temperature.
Material Use:
Polyliner 700 – a high-performance phenol novolac resin-based coating system, designed for maximum chemical resistance and durability in aggressive environments.
Polyliner 700 is used as a heavy-duty, thick-film protective lining that cures at ambient temperature. It offers excellent acid and solvent resistance, corrosion protection, and high hardness, making it suitable for environments with severe chemical and physical stress. It is especially beneficial for use where high heat deflection is required.
System Components:
This product is a two-component system with a mix ratio of 3A:1B by volume. It comes in kits: a 1-gallon kit (0.75 gal Side A + 0.25 gal Side B) or a 4-gallon kit (3 gal Side A + 1 gal Side B). It should not be diluted under any circumstances. Application requires thorough mixing for 2-3 minutes until a uniform color is achieved.
Applications:
Polyliner 700 is applicable in diverse industrial and infrastructure settings including: containment walls and floor systems, internal tank and pipe linings, crude and storage tanks, power plants, food processing areas, petrochemical and pulp & paper facilities, steel structures, mining and milling installations, bridges, and water/wastewater treatment plants.
Application Details:
· Surface Types: Carbon steel and concrete.
· Surface Prep:
o Carbon Steel: Blast to SSSP-SP-5 for internal linings (white metal) or SSSP-SP-10 for exterior use (near white), aiming for a 2–3 mil anchor profile.
o Concrete: Must cure for 28 days. Brush-blast to expose and clean surfaces. Fill and seal voids, cracks, and imperfections.
· Application Methods: Airless spray (Graco 68:1 pump or equivalent), conventional spray (HVLP or pressure pot systems), brush, or roller.
· Coverage: Theoretical coverage is 1 gallon per 100 sq. ft. at 16 mils dry film thickness (DFT), or approximately 1600 sq. ft./gal at 1 mil.
· Dry Film Thickness: 16 ± 1 mils per coat (406 ± 25 microns).
· Pot Life: 30–45 minutes at 75°F (24°C) and 50% relative humidity.
· Recoat Window: 2–8 hours at 70°F (21°C), depending on conditions.
· Cure Time Before Immersion: Minimum 24 hours at 75°F and 50% R.H.
· Solids Content: 100% by weight and volume.
· VOC Content: 0 g/L (solvent-free).
· Mixing: Add Part A into Part B and power mix thoroughly.
Special Notes:
· Environmental Conditions:
o Apply only when surface and air temperatures are between 50°F to 110°F (10–43.3°C), and at least 5°F (3°C) above the dew point.
o Cure time is highly sensitive to temperature and humidity; high heat or humidity accelerates curing, while low conditions may require accelerators.
· UV Resistance: The material will chalk and discolor under UV exposure; not UV stable.
· Shelf Life: 1 year in unopened, factory-sealed containers stored at 60–95°F (15–35°C).
· Clean-Up: Use an environmentally safe solvent approved under local regulations.
