Description
Designed for both interior and exterior applications, Pro Industrial™ Pre-Catalyzed Waterbased Urethane provides toughness, flexibility, abrasion resistance, and excellent UV resistance. Exterior performance is comparable to two-component water based urethanes.
Material Use:
Pro Industrial Pre-Catalyzed Waterbased Urethane is a high-performance, single-component, water-based acrylic polyurethane coating designed for both interior and exterior applications. It is ideal for commercial and light industrial environments where durability, UV resistance, and ease of application are required. This product offers excellent gloss and color retention, abrasion resistance, and flexibility, making it suitable for a wide range of substrates including steel, aluminum, galvanized metal, concrete, masonry, drywall, and wood.
System Components:
This urethane coating is typically used as a topcoat in a multi-layer system. Depending on the substrate, it is paired with specific primers and fillers to ensure optimal adhesion and performance. The system includes:
- Primers:
- Steel: Pro Industrial Pro-Cryl Primer or Pro Industrial Kem Bond HS Primer
- Aluminum & Galvanized Metal: Pro Industrial Pro-Cryl Primer
- Concrete Block (CMU): Pro Industrial Heavy Duty Block Filler or Loxon Acrylic Block Surfacer
- Drywall: ProMar 200 Zero VOC Primer
- Wood (Exterior): Exterior Wood Primer
- Topcoat:
- 1–2 coats of Pro Industrial Pre-Catalyzed Waterbased Urethane
Applications:
This product is suitable for use in commercial, institutional, and light industrial settings. It can be applied to:
- Structural steel and metal surfaces
- Concrete and masonry walls
- Drywall in high-traffic areas
- Exterior and interior wood surfaces
- USDA-inspected facilities due to its cleanability and chemical resistance

Special Notes:
- This product is UV resistant and suitable for exterior use, offering performance comparable to two-component water-based urethanes.
- It is compliant with major environmental regulations including LEED v4/v4.1, CARB, SCAQMD, and OTC.
- The coating has excellent chemical resistance to common industrial substances such as acids, ethanol, sodium hydroxide, and motor oil.
- It passes ASTM D4587 QUV-A accelerated weathering for 3,000 hours, indicating strong long-term durability.
- For best results, ensure proper surface preparation as per SSPC standards. Glossy or previously painted surfaces should be dulled, and all contaminants removed.
- Not recommended for use immediately after rain or in foggy conditions.
- Overspray on hot surfaces should be removed immediately to prevent adhesion.
- Shelf life is 36 months for base materials when stored properly.
- VOC content is low at 77 g/L (0.65 lbs/gal), making it suitable for use in environmentally sensitive projects.
This product is a versatile and durable solution for protective and decorative coatings in demanding environments, and it integrates well into multi-layer systems for a variety of substrates.
