A quality one-package coating, Pro Industrial™ Silver-Brite® Heavy Duty Rust Resistant Aluminum Paint is formulated with 325 mesh leafing aluminum pigment to provide excellent rust inhibition and heat resistance up to 400°F (204°C).
Material Use:
Pro Industrial™ Silver-Brite® HD Rust Resistant Aluminum Paint is a high-performance, one-component aluminum paint designed for both interior and exterior applications. It is formulated with 325 mesh leafing aluminum pigment to provide excellent rust inhibition and dry heat resistance up to 400°F (204°C). This product is ideal for protecting metal and masonry surfaces in industrial and commercial environments.
System Components:
This aluminum paint is typically used as a topcoat in a multi-layer system. Depending on the substrate and temperature exposure, it is paired with specific primers to ensure optimal adhesion and corrosion resistance. The system may include:
- Base Primers:
- Pro Industrial Kem Bond HS or Kem Kromik Universal Metal Primer (for rusted steel below 200°F)
- Pro Industrial DTM Wash Primer (for aluminum)
- Pro Industrial Galvite HS (for galvanized metal)
- Pro Industrial Heavy Duty Block Filler (for concrete block)
- Loxon Concrete and Masonry Primer (for masonry)
- ProMar 200 Zero VOC Latex Primer (for insulated pipe and ductwork below 130°F)
- Topcoat:
- 2 coats of Pro Industrial Silver-Brite HD Rust Resistant Aluminum Paint

- Structures such as piping, bridges, fences, refineries, siding, storage tanks, and industrial mufflers
Application Details:
- Application Methods: Brush, roll, or spray (airless or conventional)
- Recommended Wet Film Thickness: 3.0–4.0 mils
- Recommended Dry Film Thickness: 1.1–1.5 mils per coat (do not exceed 1.5 mils DFT per coat)
- Coverage: 416–568 sq. ft. per gallon at recommended thickness; theoretical coverage is 625 sq. ft. per gallon at 1 mil DFT
- Pot Life: Not applicable (single-component product)
- Drying Times at 77°F (25°C), 50% RH:
- To touch: 30 minutes
- Tack free: 6–8 hours
- Recoat: 18 hours
- Full cure: 30 days
- Application Temperature Range: 50°F (10°C) to 120°F (49°C); surface must be at least 5°F above dew point
- Maximum Relative Humidity: 85%
- UV Resistance: Not specified; however, aluminum pigments typically offer good reflectivity and weathering resistance
- VOC Content: 481 g/L (4.02 lbs/gal)
- Volume Solids: 39 ±2%
- Weight Solids: 48 ±2%

Special Notes:
- Do not tint this product.
- Do not apply more than 1.5 mils DFT per coat to avoid blistering and peeling.
- Surface preparation is critical for performance. Follow SSPC and ICRI standards for cleaning and profiling.
- For best results, apply to cool surfaces between 50°F and 100°F.
- Stir gently before use; do not shake mechanically to avoid a mottled appearance.
- When spraying, use a 50% overlap and consider cross-spraying to ensure uniform coverage.
- Clean tools and equipment with a compliant solvent immediately after use.
- Rags and waste soaked with this product may spontaneously combust; dispose of properly in a sealed, water-filled metal container.
This product is not compliant with SCAQMD or LEED v4 VOC/emission standards but meets other regional VOC regulations such as OTC, CARB, and Canada. It is intended for professional use only.
