ProGuard Bonder Paste SP – Non-sag, short pot life, structural epoxy adhesive

 This is a high-strength, two-component structural epoxy paste adhesive ideal for both structural and non-structural load-bearing applications. It is suitable for bonding hardened concrete to hardened or plastic concrete, masonry, stone, and steel. It is especially effective for vertical, horizontal, and overhead surfaces and for anchoring bolts, dowels, and rebar into concrete, masonry, or stone. The material may also be used as a surface seal in pressure injection crack repair processes.

·      Component A (Resin): White liquid epoxy resin

·      Component B (Hardener): Black liquid epoxy hardener

·      Mixed Appearance: Blue-gray paste

·      Mix Ratio: 1:1 by volume (100:138 by weight)

·      Bonding concrete (hardened-to-hardened and plastic-to-hardened)

·      Steel plate bonding (external reinforcement)

·      Anchoring bolts, dowels, and rebar

·      Vertical, horizontal, and overhead repairs

·      Surface sealing for injection crack repair

·      Grouting applications requiring low temp cure or short set times at higher temperatures

·      Surface Prep: Requires clean, dry/damp surfaces. Concrete surfaces should meet CSP 2–4 profile and a minimum direct tensile strength of 250 psi (ASTM C1583). Steel must be cleaned to white metal (SSPC-SP 5/NACE No. 1).

·      Mixing: Use a Jiffy mixer with low-speed drill (350–750 rpm) for 2–3 minutes. Use only quantities that can be placed within the material’s pot life.

·      Installation: Trowel applied or pumpable via plural component equipment; suitable for contact pressure bonding and grout-style dowel/bar embedment.

·      Pot Life / Gel Time:

o   31 min at 50°F (10°C)

o   21 min at 73°F (23°C)

o   7 min at 105°F (41°C)

·      Minimum Installation Temperature: 40°F (4°C)

·      Non-Sag Thickness: Up to 1/4 inch (6.35 mm)

·      Curing Time:

o   Initial bond in ~2 days

o   Full bond strength by 14 days

·      Full Cure Properties (at 73°F):

o   Compressive Strength: 13,310 psi (ASTM D695)

o   Flexural Strength: 10,000 psi (ASTM D790)

o   Shear Bond (Hardened to Hardened): 2,100 psi at 14 days (ASTM C882)

·      Chemical Resistance: Excellent against a wide range of acids, bases, oils, and solvents. Specific chemical compatibility should be confirmed with ChemCo Systems.

·      Heat Deflection Temperature (HDT): 129°F (53.9°C)

·      UV Stability: Not UV rated; best used in non-exposed applications unless protected.

·      VOC Content: Zero VOC; environmentally safe

Packaging and Storage:

 Available in 2, 10, and 90-gallon kits. Store between 60–90°F in a dry, shaded environment. Shelf life: minimum 3 years unopened. Remixing may be necessary after prolonged storage.
