Description
Quick-N-Cure™ is a single component, proprietary, liquid catalyst that reduces the cold weather cure time of aromatic polyurethane polyurea coatings.
Material Use
Quick-N-Cure is a proprietary, single-component liquid catalyst specifically designed to accelerate the cure time of aromatic polyurethane and polyurea coatings under cold weather conditions. It is particularly useful in scenarios requiring rapid turnaround or fast curing in low temperatures.
System Components
Quick-N-Cure is not a standalone coating but is formulated to be used with aromatic coatings as an additive. It is compatible with the following Polycoat Products systems:
· Polyglaze AR, AR-SF
· PC-220, PC-220SF, PC-220OF
· PC-440, PC-440SF, PC-440SC
· Poly-I-Gard 246, 246SF, 246OF, 246SC
These materials serve as the primary base or top coats, and Quick-N-Cure modifies their cure characteristics when used in conjunction.
Applications
Quick-N-Cure is typically used in:
· Cold weather coating installations
· Caulking compounds for plywood joints, cracks, concrete expansion joints, and flashings
· Vertical surfaces
· Projects requiring quick access after coating application
Application Details
· Mixing Ratio:
o 0.2 to 0.6 oz per 1 gallon of coating (5.9–17.7 cc per 3.78 L)
o OR 1 to 3 oz per 5 gallons of coating (29.6–88.7 cc per 18.9 L)
· Recommended Usage: Not more than 0.1–0.2% of Quick-N-Cure by weight of the coating.
· Pot Life: Approx. 4–6 hours at 75°F (24°C), 50% R.H., varies with temperature, humidity, and quantity used.
· Mixing Method: Use a mechanical mixer. Avoid up-and-down motion to prevent air entrainment and foaming.
Special Notes
· Temperature Limits: Intended exclusively for cold-temperature applications. Store between 60–95°F (15–35°C).
· UV Resistance: Not applicable, as this is a catalyst additive and not a final surface coat.
· Coverage: As an additive, coverage metrics are not directly relevant.
· Curing Impact: Accelerates cure time, enabling quicker access in cold environments.
· Shelf Life: 1 year in original sealed containers.
· Precautions: Overuse can negatively affect physical properties or cause foaming. Do not dilute. Open containers must be used promptly.
· VOC Content: 0 lb/gal (0 g/L) – zero VOC formula.
