Description
SENTINEL P150 is a membrane composed of thermoplastic polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and a polyester reinforcement.
UNITS PER SKID:
Stripping membrane - 100
The other variants - 10
Material Use:
SENTINEL P150 is a high-performance, single-ply roofing membrane designed for waterproofing applications on commercial and industrial flat or low-slope roofs. It is composed of thermoplastic polyvinyl chloride (PVC) reinforced with polyester, offering excellent mechanical strength, flexibility, and weather resistance. This membrane is suitable for new construction and re-roofing projects.
System Components:
SENTINEL P150 is used as the primary waterproofing membrane in a single-ply roofing system. It can be installed using three different methods: mechanically fastened, induction welded, or fully adhered with SENTINEL S Bonding Adhesive. The system includes:
- SENTINEL P150 membrane (available in white and grey)
- Mechanical fasteners and plates (for mechanically fastened or induction welded systems)
- SENTINEL S Bonding Adhesive (for fully adhered systems)
- Hot air welding equipment (for sealing side and end laps)
Applications:
This membrane is ideal for commercial and industrial roofing applications where a durable, UV-resistant, and energy-efficient waterproofing solution is required. It is particularly suitable for flat or low-slope roofs and can be used in both new construction and retrofit projects.
Application Details:
- Installation Methods: Mechanically fastened, induction welded, or fully adhered.
- Fastening Requirements: For mechanically fastened systems, fasteners are installed in the 152 mm (6 in) side lap, 51 mm (2 in) from the edge. Preliminary fasteners are required on insulation boards at a rate of four per 1.2 × 1.2 m (4 × 4 ft) board or six per 1.2 × 2.4 m (4 × 8 ft) board. Fastener quantity may vary based on wind uplift requirements.
- Welding: All side and end laps must be sealed using a hot air welder to a minimum width of 38 mm (1.5 in). Automatic hot air welders dedicated to PVC are recommended for optimal results.
- Adhesive Application: When fully adhered, leave a 38 mm (1.5 in) adhesive-free zone along all laps for proper welding.
Special Notes:
- Compatibility: SENTINEL P150 is incompatible with asphalt-based products, coal tar pitch, and uncoated extruded or expanded polystyrene.
- Thickness: 1.5 mm (60 mils) total thickness; 0.76 mm (30 mils) over scrim.
- Coverage: Available in rolls of 1.5 m (5 ft) or 3 m (10 ft) width and 30.5 m (100 ft) length, covering up to 92.9 m² (1,000 ft²) per roll.
- Weight: 1.7 kg/m² (0.3 lb/ft²).
- UV Resistance: The membrane is UV stable and offers high solar reflectance, especially in white (initial SRI of 108).
- Temperature Resistance: Passes low temperature bend test at -40 °C (-40 °F).
- Storage: Store rolls lengthwise on pallets in a clean, dry area, covered with tarps to protect from weather exposure.
- Environmental Ratings: White membrane has a solar reflectance of 0.85 (initial) and thermal emittance of 0.89, contributing to energy efficiency and compliance with Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC) standards.
This membrane is a robust and versatile solution for long-term roof waterproofing, offering multiple installation options and excellent performance in a variety of climates.
