Description
SENTINEL P150 HFB is a membrane composed of thermoplastic polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and a polyester reinforcement laminated to a needle-punched polypropylene fleece.
UNITS PER SKID: 10
Material Use:
SENTINEL P150 HFB is a high-performance, fleece-backed thermoplastic polyvinyl chloride (PVC) roofing membrane designed for use in single-ply roofing systems. It provides a durable, waterproof barrier for commercial and industrial flat or low-slope roofs. The membrane is reinforced with polyester and laminated to a needle-punched polypropylene fleece, offering excellent mechanical strength and puncture resistance.
System Components:
The SENTINEL P150 HFB system includes the following components:
- Primary Membrane: SENTINEL P150 HFB (1.5 mm / 60 mils thick)
- Adhesive (for fully adhered systems): DUOTACK SPF Adhesive (sprayable polyurethane foam adhesive)
- Fasteners (for mechanically fastened systems): Screws and 2.4 in plates designed specifically for membrane fastening
- Cover Strips: 150 mm (6 in) bare-back cover strips for end laps
- Hot Air Welding Equipment: Required for sealing side and end laps
Applications:
This membrane is suitable for new construction and re-roofing applications on commercial and industrial buildings. It can be installed using either a fully adhered method with DUOTACK SPF Adhesive or a mechanically fastened method using screws and plates. It is ideal for use on steel decks and other compatible substrates, excluding asphalt-based products and uncoated polystyrene insulation.
Application Details:
- Installation Methods: Fully adhered with DUOTACK SPF Adhesive or mechanically fastened
- Side Lap Sealing: Leave 38 mm (1.5 in) unbonded at side laps for hot air welding
- End Laps: Must be aligned without overlapping and covered with a 150 mm (6 in) bare-back cover strip
- Fastener Placement: In mechanically fastened systems, fasteners are installed in the 152 mm (6 in) side lap, 51 mm (2 in) from the edge
- Fastener Rate: Four fasteners per 1.2 × 1.2 m (4 × 4 ft) insulation board and six per 1.2 × 2.4 m (4 × 8 ft) board; more may be required based on wind uplift testing
Special Notes:
- Compatibility: Do not install over asphalt-based products, coal tar pitch, or uncoated extruded/expanded polystyrene
- Storage: Store rolls lengthwise on pallets in a clean, dry area, covered with tarps
- UV Resistance: The membrane is UV stable and available in white and grey. The white version offers high solar reflectance (initial 0.87) and thermal emittance (0.89), with a Solar Reflectance Index (SRI) of 110 initially, making it suitable for cool roof applications
- Thickness: 1.5 mm (60 mils) total thickness; 0.76 mm (30 mils) over scrim
- Coverage: Each roll covers approximately 74.3 m² (800 ft²)
- Temperature Tolerance: Passes low temperature bend test at -40 °C (-40 °F)
- Mechanical Properties: High breaking strength (MD/XD: 83/57 kN/m), excellent tear resistance, and puncture resistance
- Environmental Limits: Ensure fleece is dry before installation; do not install if fleece is wet or damp
- Welding Equipment: Use only PVC-dedicated hot air welders that have not been used for asphalt-based membranes
This membrane is part of a complete waterproofing system and should be installed by trained professionals in accordance with SOPREMA guidelines and local building codes. For optimal performance, consult wind uplift test reports and adhere
