Material Use:
SENTINEL P200 HFB is a high-performance, fleece-backed thermoplastic polyvinyl chloride (PVC) roofing membrane designed for use in single-ply roofing systems. It provides long-term waterproofing protection and is suitable for both adhered and mechanically fastened applications. The membrane is reinforced with polyester and laminated to a needle-punched polypropylene fleece, offering enhanced durability and puncture resistance.
System Components:
The SENTINEL P200 HFB system includes the following components:
- Membrane: SENTINEL P200 HFB (2.0 mm / 80 mils thick)
- Adhesive (for adhered systems): DUOTACK SPF Adhesive (sprayable polyurethane foam adhesive)
- Fasteners (for mechanically fastened systems): Screws and 2.4 in plates designed specifically for membrane fastening
- Cover Strips: 150 mm (6 in) bare-back cover strips for end laps
- Hot Air Welding Equipment: Required for sealing side and end laps (automatic hot air welder recommended for quality and speed)
Applications:
SENTINEL P200 HFB is used in commercial and industrial roofing applications where a durable, UV-resistant, and energy-efficient waterproofing membrane is required. It is suitable for both new construction and re-roofing projects. The membrane is available in white and grey, with the white version offering high solar reflectance and thermal emittance, making it ideal for cool roof applications.
Application Details:
- Adhered Installation: The membrane is fully bonded to the substrate using DUOTACK SPF Adhesive. A 38 mm (1.5 in) adhesive-free zone must be left along all side laps to allow for proper hot air welding.
- Mechanically Fastened Installation: Fasteners are installed through the side lap area, 51 mm (2 in) from the edge. Preliminary fasteners are also required for insulation boards, with spacing depending on board size and wind uplift requirements.
- Seaming: All side and end laps must be sealed using a hot air welder. Automatic hot air welders dedicated to PVC membranes are recommended.
- End Laps: Must be aligned without overlapping and covered with a 150 mm (6 in) bare-back cover strip.
Special Notes:
- Compatibility: SENTINEL P200 HFB is not compatible with asphalt-based products, coal tar pitch, or uncoated extruded/expanded polystyrene.
- Storage: Rolls must be stored lengthwise on pallets in a clean, dry area and protected with tarps.
- Environmental Conditions: Do not install if the fleece is wet or damp. Ensure surfaces are dry and clean before application.
- UV Resistance: The membrane is UV stable and suitable for exposed applications.
- Thickness: 2.0 mm (80 mils) total thickness; 1.02 mm (40 mils) over scrim.
- Coverage: Each roll covers approximately 60.4 m² (650 ft²).
- Temperature Resistance: Passes low temperature bend test at -40 °C (-40 °F).
- Solar Reflectance Index (SRI): White membrane has an initial SRI of 110 and 3-year SRI of 81, making it compliant with cool roof standards.

This membrane is ideal for high-performance roofing systems requiring long-term durability, energy efficiency, and resistance to environmental stressors. It can be used in combination with SOPREMA insulation and vapor barrier products to create a complete roofing system.
