System Components:
The SENTINEL PVC DRAIN system consists of a one-piece aluminum drain body (sleeve and plate) and a pre-applied, weldable SENTINEL P150 PVC reinforcement membrane. The aluminum construction, free of welds, enhances the mechanical strength and long-term durability of the drain. Complementary products used in the system include SENTINEL UNIVERSAL SEALANT and SENTINEL CUT EDGE SEALANT, which are essential for proper installation and sealing.
Applications:
This drain system is intended for use in commercial and industrial low-slope roofing applications where PVC membranes are used. It is compatible with SENTINEL PVC roofing membranes and is ideal for new construction or retrofit roofing projects requiring integrated drainage solutions.
Application Details:
Installation begins by cleaning the pre-applied PVC reinforcement membrane with a non-greasy solvent such as acetone or methyl ethyl ketone (MEK). SENTINEL UNIVERSAL SEALANT is applied under the aluminum flange to ensure adhesion to the waterproofing membrane. The drain is then mechanically fastened, and the perimeter of the PVC reinforcement membrane is hot-air welded to the field membrane using an electric heat gun. To complete the installation, SENTINEL CUT EDGE SEALANT is applied to the welded perimeter to ensure a watertight seal.
Special Notes:
- The SENTINEL PVC DRAIN is available in multiple drain rod diameters: 3 in (7.62 cm), 4 in (10.16 cm), 5 in (12.70 cm), and 6 in (15.24 cm), allowing for flexibility in drainage capacity.
- The drain flange and reinforcement membrane measure 23.5 x 23.5 inches (56.7 x 56.7 cm), with a membrane thickness of 1.5 mm (60 mils).
- The system is designed to be fully compatible with SENTINEL PVC roofing membranes and should be installed by trained professionals following SOPREMA guidelines.
- The use of SENTINEL UNIVERSAL SEALANT and SENTINEL CUT EDGE SEALANT is critical to ensure long-term waterproofing performance.
