Description

Sher-Cryl™ HPA is an ambient cured, one component acrylic coating with excellent performance properties.

Material Use:

Sher-Cryl™ HPA is a high-performance, one-component, water-based acrylic coating designed for both interior and exterior applications. It is ambient-cured and offers excellent chemical resistance, corrosion protection, and humidity resistance. This product is ideal for use in commercial, industrial, and institutional environments, including USDA-inspected facilities. It is suitable for application on a wide range of substrates including steel, galvanized and aluminum surfaces, concrete, masonry, wood, and previously painted surfaces.

System Components:

Sher-Cryl HPA is typically used as a topcoat in a multi-layer coating system. Depending on the substrate, it is paired with specific primers and fillers to ensure optimal adhesion and performance. The system generally includes:

- Primer/Base Coat: Varies by substrate (see below)

- Topcoat: 2 coats of Sher-Cryl HPA (Gloss or Semi-Gloss)

Applications:

Sher-Cryl HPA is recommended for:

- Structural steel, piping, and storage tanks

- Equipment and machinery

- Warehouses and manufacturing facilities

- Concrete and masonry walls

- Wood and drywall surfaces

- Pre-finished siding and previously painted surfaces

Special Notes:

- Application below 50°F or above 95°F may result in poor adhesion or dry spray.

- During the first 16–24 hours of curing, the coating is sensitive to moisture, dew, and high humidity. Avoid exposure during this period.

- Brush or roller application may require multiple coats to achieve uniform appearance and film build.

- Surface preparation is critical for performance. Follow SSPC standards for cleaning and preparation.

- Not compliant with SCAQMD and LEED v4 emissions standards.

- Shelf life is 36 months in unopened containers.

- VOC content is 239 g/L (1.99 lbs/gal), compliant with most regional regulations except SCAQMD.

Sher-Cryl HPA is a versatile, durable, and easy-to-apply acrylic coating system that provides excellent protection and aesthetic finish for a wide range of substrates in both new construction and maintenance environments.
