Description
Material Use:
Sikafloor®-2002 is a two-component, clear epoxy resin designed primarily as a binder and top coat in decorative flooring systems. It is ideal for use in multicoloured systems such as Sikafloor® Quartzite®, DecoFlake®, and Metallic FX®. The product is intended for light to heavy traffic areas, including hospitals, healthcare facilities, retail spaces, manufacturing facilities, commercial kitchens, laboratories, offices, and cultural venues.
System Components:
Sikafloor®-2002 is typically used in conjunction with other Sikafloor® systems. It acts as both a binder and top coat for systems like Sikafloor® Quartzite®, DecoFlake®, and Metallic FX®. For substrates with high moisture content (>4%), primers such as Sikafloor®-1610, Sikafloor®-81 EpoCem® CA, or Sikafloor® 22NA/24 NA PurCem® must be used prior to applying Sikafloor®-2002.
Applications:
The product is applied to interior concrete surfaces where aesthetics, chemical resistance, and durability are required. It is not recommended for exterior use or environments with direct sunlight exposure, freeze/thaw conditions, or negative-side waterproofing requirements.
Application Details:
- Mix Ratio: 2:1 (A:B by volume)
- Application Tools: Non-marking squeegee or flexible steel trowel followed by backrolling
- Coverage: 80 to 160 ft²/US gal (10-20 mils wet film thickness)
- Substrate Preparation: Mechanically prepare concrete to CSP 3–4 profile; compressive strength ≥ 25 MPa, tensile strength ≥ 1.5 MPa
