Description

Sikafloor®-2002 is a two-component, high solids, low VOC, low odour, water clear, high gloss epoxy resin formulated to offer excellent aesthetic properties. Typically applied as the standard clear binder and top coat for multicoloured, decorative systems such as Sikafloor® Quartzite®, Sikafloor® DecoFlake® and Sikafloor® Metallic FX® Systems.

Material Use:

Sikafloor®-2002 is a clear, two-component, high solids epoxy resin used as a binder and top coat. It is primarily applied in decorative flooring systems such as Sikafloor® Quartzite®, DecoFlake®, and Metallic FX® for interior use in environments that demand aesthetic appeal and durability—like hospitals, retail spaces, laboratories, and manufacturing areas.

System Components:

Sikafloor®-2002 functions both as a clear binder and top coat within multicolored, decorative systems. It is compatible with decorative elements like quartz and flakes, often used in Sikafloor® systems:

  • Decorative systems: Sikafloor® Quartzite®, DecoFlake®, Metallic FX®
  • Compatible moisture barrier/primers: Sikafloor®-1610, Sikafloor®-81 EpoCem®CA, Sikafloor® 22NA or 24 NA PurCem® when moisture content > 4% or RH > 85%

Applications:

  • Light to heavy traffic environments
  • Interior floors and walls only
  • Hospitals, retail spaces, commercial kitchens, life sciences, offices, and cultural venues

Application Details:

  • Mixing ratio: 2:1 by volume (A:B)
  • Application via non-marking squeegee or trowel, followed by backrolling
  • Coverage: 80–160 ft² per US gallon (10–20 mil wet film thickness)
  • Pot life: 15–50 minutes depending on temperature
  • Curing:
    • Foot traffic: 6–24 hrs
    • Light traffic: 36 hrs – 3 days
    • Full cure: 4–10 days (temperature dependent)
  • Recoat times (min–max):
    • 10 °C: 24–36 hrs
    • 20 °C: 8–24 hrs
    • 30 °C: 6–24 hrs

Special Notes:

  • Substrate temperature must be 3 °C above dew point; avoid application during temperature rise to prevent pinholes
  • Concrete substrate moisture must be <4% by weight. If over, use compatible moisture barrier primers
  • Application temperature: 10–30 °C; optimum product conditioning: 18–24 °C
  • Max humidity during application: 85%
  • Not UV stable: not suitable for areas with direct sunlight exposure
  • Not intended for negative side waterproofing or exterior use in freeze/thaw zones
  • Typical Shore D hardness: 80
  • Gloss level: ~90 (high gloss)
  • Coefficient of friction: 0.32 wet, 0.92 dry
  • Chemical resistance available upon request
  • Clean tools with Sika® Epoxy Cleaner immediately after use

This material is best suited for decorative, durable, seamless indoor flooring systems where aesthetic, hygiene, and chemical resistance are critical.
