Description
A quality one-package coating, Silver-Brite® Heavy Duty Rust Resistant Aluminum Paint is formulated with 325 mesh leafing aluminum pigment to provide excellent rust inhibition and heat resistance up to 400°F (204°C).
Material Use:
Silver-Brite® Heavy Duty Rust Resistant Aluminum Paint is a high-performance, one-component aluminum coating designed for both interior and exterior applications. It is formulated with 325 mesh leafing aluminum pigment to provide excellent rust inhibition and dry heat resistance up to 400°F (204°C). This product is ideal for protecting metal and masonry surfaces in industrial and commercial environments where heat and weather resistance are critical.
System Components:
Silver-Brite® is typically used as a topcoat in a multi-layer system. Depending on the substrate, it is applied over a compatible primer or block filler. The system may include:
- Primers:
- *Steel (below 200°F):* Kem Bond HS or Kem Kromik Universal Metal Primer
- *Aluminum (below 200°F):* DTM Wash Primer
- *Galvanized Metal (below 200°F):* Galvite HS
- *Concrete Block (below 200°F):* Pro Industrial Heavy Duty Block Filler
- *Masonry (below 200°F):* Loxon Concrete and Masonry Primer
- *Insulated Pipe & Ductwork (below 130°F):* ProMar 200 Zero VOC Latex Primer
- Topcoat:
- *All substrates:* 2 coats of Silver-Brite® Heavy Duty Rust Resistant Aluminum Paint
Applications:
This product is suitable for a wide range of industrial and commercial applications, including:
- Piping
- Bridges
- Fences
- Refineries
- Siding
- Storage tanks (exterior)
- Industrial mufflers
- Insulated ductwork and piping (interior)
- Concrete and masonry surfaces

- VOC Content: 481 g/L (4.02 lbs/gal)
- Shelf Life: 36 months (unopened)
Special Notes:
- Do not tint this product.
- Do not apply more than 1.5 mils DFT per coat to avoid blistering and peeling.
- Excessive film build or poor surface preparation can lead to premature failure.
- Stir gently before use; do not shake or over-agitate to avoid mottling.
- For best results, apply to cool surfaces (50°F–100°F).
- Stripe coat welds, crevices, and sharp angles to ensure full coverage.
- Clean tools and equipment with compliant solvent immediately after use.
- Rags and waste soaked with this product may spontaneously combust; dispose of properly in a sealed, water-filled metal container.
System Compatibility Summary:
Silver-Brite® is compatible with a variety of primers depending on the substrate. It is always used as the final coat in the system. For high-heat applications (up to 400°F), it can be applied directly to properly prepared steel or insulated surfaces without a primer. For all other substrates, a compatible primer or filler is required to ensure adhesion and performance.
