SOPRA-ISO is a high-performance polyisocyanurate (polyiso) thermal insulation board designed primarily for use in roofing systems. It serves as a thermal barrier, enhancing the energy efficiency of buildings by reducing heat transfer through the roof assembly. SOPRA-ISO is suitable for both new construction and reroofing applications and is available in both flat and tapered configurations to facilitate drainage.

SOPRA-ISO is composed of a closed-cell polyisocyanurate foam core sandwiched between organic facers reinforced with glass fibres. It is typically used in conjunction with SOPREMA roofing membranes and adhesives. When used in a complete roofing system, SOPRA-ISO may be installed with mechanical fasteners, hot bitumen, or DUOTACK adhesives, depending on the project requirements and environmental conditions. A support panel is required when installing waterproofing membranes over SOPRA-ISO, except in the case of mechanically fastened membranes.

SOPRA-ISO is intended for use in commercial and industrial roofing systems where thermal insulation is required. It is compatible with various SOPREMA roofing systems and can be installed over metal decks, concrete, or wood substrates. The product is suitable for use in both adhered and mechanically fastened roofing assemblies and meets the requirements of ASTM C1289 and CAN/ULC S704 standards.

SOPRA-ISO can be installed using three primary methods:

- Mechanically Fastened: Using screws and stress plates, with the number of fasteners determined by wind uplift requirements.

- Adhered with Hot Bitumen: Bitumen must be applied at a temperature 28 °C (50 °F) below its Equiviscous Temperature (EVT) to ensure proper adhesion.

- Adhered with DUOTACK Adhesives: A compatible SOPREMA adhesive system, with application rates varying by wind zone and substrate.

- SOPRA-ISO boards measuring 1220 x 2400 mm (4 x 8 ft) must not be adhered with hot bitumen or adhesive; these sizes are for mechanical fastening only.

- Waterproofing membranes must not be installed directly over SOPRA-ISO unless they are mechanically fastened. A support panel is required for adhered membranes.

- SOPRA-ISO is GREENGUARD GOLD certified, indicating low chemical emissions and suitability for use in sensitive environments such as schools and healthcare facilities.

Environmental and Application Limitations:

- Service Temperature Range: -73 to 122 °C (-100 to 250 °F)

- Storage: Must be stored flat, off the ground (minimum 75 mm / 3 in), and protected from weather. Remove temporary packaging to avoid condensation.

- Flame Spread Rating: 40–60 (ASTM E84)

- Water Absorption: <1.0% (ASTM C209), <3.5% (ASTM D2842)

- Compressive Strength: 138 kPa (20 psi) or 172 kPa (25 psi), depending on grade

- Thermal Resistance (LTTR):

- 25.4 mm (1 in): RSI 1.00 (R-5.7)

- 38.1 mm (1.5 in): RSI 1.50 (R-8.6)

- 50.8 mm (2 in): RSI 2.01 (R-11.4)

Thickness and Dimensions:

- Available Thicknesses: 25 mm to 152 mm (1 in to 6 in)

- Standard Panel Sizes: 1.2 x 1.2 m (4 x 4 ft) and 1.2 x 2.4 m (4 x 8 ft)
