SOPRAFLOW ALU NC is a high-performance aluminum roof drain system designed for the efficient collection and regulation of rainwater on new low-slope roofing systems. It is part of a complete drainage solution that includes clamping rings, strainers, pole markers, and optional flow control accessories. This system ensures proper water evacuation while maintaining the integrity of the waterproofing membrane.
System Components:
The SOPRAFLOW ALU NC system includes the following components:
- SOPRAFLOW ALU NC Drain: Made of aluminum, available in various diameters (3", 4", and 6") and heights (16" and 24"), designed to be installed on low-slope roofs.
- SOPRAFLOW CLAMPING RING: A powder-coated aluminum ring that mechanically secures the waterproofing membrane around the drain.
- SOPRAFLOW ALU STRAINER: A heavy-duty, oxidation-proof aluminum strainer that prevents debris from entering the drainage system.
- SOPRAFLOW POLE MARKER: A 90 cm (36") tall fiberglass and nylon marker that ensures visibility of the drain for inspection and maintenance.
- SOPRAFLOW CONTROL and SOPRAOVERFLOW: Optional controlled flow accessories that regulate rainwater accumulation and drainage on the roof.

Application Details:
Installation of the SOPRAFLOW ALU NC system involves several key steps:
1. Drain Installation: The drain plate must be cleaned with a non-greasy solvent and primed according to the waterproofing membrane’s TDS. A bead of SOPRAMASTIC or Chem Link M-1 adhesive is applied under the drain plate before securing it with screws.
2. Waterproofing Integration: The waterproofing membrane is installed around the drain, and the clamping ring is mechanically fastened once the membrane is cured or tempered.
3. Accessory Installation: The SOPRAFLOW CONTROL and SOPRAOVERFLOW accessories are installed between the membrane and clamping ring if flow regulation is required. The strainer is then fastened above the clamping ring, and the pole marker is attached to the strainer.
Special Notes:
- The SOPRAFLOW ALU NC system must be used in conjunction with compatible waterproofing membranes. The appropriate primer must be selected based on the membrane manufacturer’s recommendations.
- SOPRAMASTIC or Chem Link M-1 is required for proper adhesion of the drain plate to the substrate.
- The system is designed for mechanical fastening, ensuring long-term durability and resistance to environmental conditions.
- The aluminum components are oxidation-proof and powder-coated for enhanced longevity.
- The SOPRAFLOW CONTROL and SOPRAOVERFLOW accessories are not included in the standard kit and must be ordered separately.

This system does not involve liquid-applied materials, so specifications such as pot life, curing time, wet mil thickness, or coverage per gallon are not applicable.
