Material Use:
SOPRALAP SANDED is a sanded-surfaced SBS-modified bitumen membrane used as a cover strip in roofing systems. It is specifically designed to ensure the waterproofing integrity of end laps in SOPRASMART SANDED and COLVENT BASE 840 membranes. This product functions as an accessory membrane in multi-layer SBS-modified bitumen roofing systems.
System Components:
SOPRALAP SANDED is used in conjunction with SOPRASMART SANDED and COLVENT BASE 840 membranes to form a complete SBS-modified bitumen roofing system. It is applied over end laps to reinforce and waterproof the joints. The system may also include SOPRASPHALTE M (SEBS hot bitumen) as an adhesive when hot-applied, or a compatible cold adhesive applied with a notched squeegee.
Applications:
This product is intended for use in roofing applications, particularly for waterproofing the end laps of SBS-modified bitumen base sheets. It is suitable for both new construction and roof renovation projects where SBS-modified bitumen systems are specified.
Application Details:
SOPRALAP SANDED can be installed using two methods:
- Cold Adhesive Application: The membrane is unrolled onto a previously applied cold adhesive using a notched squeegee. Once positioned, pressure is applied with a membrane roller to ensure full adhesion.
- Hot Bitumen Application: The membrane is unrolled into a bed of SEBS hot bitumen (SOPRASPHALTE M) applied with a mop.
The membrane must be stored upright with the selvedge side on top and protected from UV exposure and weather if stored outdoors. Installation should be performed under appropriate weather conditions to ensure proper adhesion and performance.
