Mechanical fasteners designed for heavy-duty attachment of membranes and insulation boards to steel or wood decks.
UNITS PER SKID: 40
QUANTITY PER PACKAGING: 1000 PC
Material Use:
SOPREMA Screws and Plates are high-performance mechanical fasteners designed for the secure attachment of roofing membranes and composite panels to various structural substrates. These fasteners are suitable for use in roofing systems where strong mechanical anchorage is required, particularly in commercial and industrial flat roofing applications.
System Components:
The system consists of hardened carbon steel No. 14 Phillips head screws and 50 mm (2 in) round barbed Galvalume plates. The screws feature a drill point tip for ease of installation and are available in multiple lengths ranging from 5.1 cm (2 in) to 30.5 cm (12 in). The plates are 20-gauge Galvalume with a 6.5 mm (0.255 in) hole diameter and conform to FM 4470 standards for roofing components.
Applications:
SOPREMA Screws and Plates are used for mechanically fastening roofing membranes and insulation boards to a variety of substrates including:
- 18 to 22 gauge steel decks
- 19 mm (3/4 in) plywood
- 38 mm (1 1/2 in) wood
- Structural concrete (with predrilling)
These fasteners are ideal for use in SOPREMA roofing systems and are compatible with a wide range of SOPREMA membranes and insulation products.
Application Details:
- Installation Requirements: For concrete substrates, predrilling with a 4.8 mm (3/16 in) carbide tip is required to a depth at least 13 mm (1/2 in) deeper than the fastener penetration.
- Minimum Penetration Requirements:
- Steel (18–22 ga): 19 mm (3/4 in)
- Wood (38 mm): 25 mm (1 in)
- Concrete: 25 mm (1 in)
- Plywood (19 mm): 25 mm (1 in)
- Minimum through penetration: 6.4 mm (1/4 in)
- Pull-Out Resistance:
- Steel (22 ga): 204 kg (457 lb)
- Wood (38 mm): 274 kg (605 lb)
- Concrete (4000 psi): 386 kg (850 lb)
- Plywood (19 mm): 268 kg (590 lb)
Special Notes:
- The screws are coated for corrosion resistance and meet FM 4470 standards.
- Plates are barbed for enhanced grip and are also FM 4470 compliant.
- Available in pre-assembled configurations for ease of installation.
- Supplied in boxes of 250 to 1000 units depending on length and type.
- Environmental conditions such as temperature and humidity are not specified in the TDS, but standard roofing installation best practices should be followed.
- These fasteners are considered accessory components and are typically used in conjunction with SOPREMA membranes and insulation systems.
This product is a critical component in mechanically fastened roofing systems and should be selected based on substrate type and required pull-out resistance. Always consult with a SOPREMA representative for system compatibility and installation guidance.
