Description

Themecoat®762 is a two component, 1:1, 100% solids, pourable, liquid applied, modified polyurea liner system for mold making.

Material Use

Themecoat 762 – A two-component, 1:1 mix ratio, 100% solids, pourable, liquid-applied, modified polyurea protective coating. It is designed as a liner system primarily for mold making applications.

Themecoat 762 is utilized mainly as a mold liner and for forming processes. It offers a tough, seamless, and elastomeric surface with chemical resistance, flexibility at low temperatures, and high abrasion and impact resistance.

System Components

 The system includes:

·       Side-A Component: 5-gallon (47 lbs) pail or 50-gallon (477 lbs) drum.

·       Side-B Component: 5-gallon (43 lbs) pail or 50-gallon drum (426 lbs for neutral, 420 lbs for black).

Both components must be mixed at a 1:1 volume ratio and used without dilution. The final system is applied as a monolithic coating.

Applications

·       Mold liners

·       Forming processes where a robust, chemical-resistant liner is required

·       Applications requiring flexible yet durable coatings

Application Details

·       Mix Ratio: 1:1 by volume (Side-A : Side-B)

·       Pot Life: 15–20 minutes at 75°F (24°C)

·       Demold Time: 18–24 hours at ½” (1.27 cm) thickness

·       Cure Time: Greater than 24 hours at room temperature

·       Application Temperature: Components should be preconditioned to 75–80°F (24–32°C); surface temperature must be ≥5°F (3°C) above dew point

·       Viscosity: Side-A: 1200 ± 500 cps, Side-B: 500 ± 200 cps at 150–160°F

·       Coverage: 1 mil = 1 gallon per 1600 ft²; thickness can be built without limit due to unlimited build feature

·       Surface Prep: Depends on substrate. Mechanical abrasion recommended for foams; primers not advised for polystyrene; most fabrics do not need primers. Adhesion tests advised for other substrates.

Special Notes

·       UV Resistance: Not UV stable; will yellow and darken upon exposure. Should be topcoated within 12 hours with an aliphatic polyurethane or polyurea coating for colorfastness.

·       Storage: Shelf life is 6 months; store above 60°F (15°C) on pallets, avoid freezing and outdoor storage.

·       VOC Content: 0 lbs/gal (compliant for VOC regulations)

·       Limitations: Product contains isocyanates; use with appropriate PPE and ventilation. Desiccant devices must be fitted on containers during use.
