Description
URECO STS is a heavy duty self-leveling three component cementitious polyurethane system with a broadcast aggregate.
QUANTITY PER PACKAGING: 6 PC
Material Use:
URECO STS is a self-leveling, three-component cementitious polyurethane flooring system designed for high-performance industrial and commercial environments. It is formulated to provide superior resistance to chemical attack, thermal shock, abrasion, and impact. The system is ideal for areas requiring hygienic, durable, and easy-to-maintain flooring solutions.
System Components:
URECO STS is composed of three parts: Part 1 (resin), Part 2 (hardener), and Part 3 (aggregate). These components are mixed on-site to form a homogenous, self-leveling slurry. The system is typically installed at a thickness of 3 to 6 mm (1/8" to 1/4"). Quartz aggregate is broadcast into the wet surface to enhance durability and slip resistance. For enhanced performance and longevity, URECO STS should be top-coated with either URECO TC or URECO XTC. An optional integral cove base, URECO V, is available for seamless wall-to-floor transitions.
Applications:
URECO STS is suitable for a wide range of demanding environments, including commercial kitchens, restaurants, meat and poultry processing plants, dairy facilities, pharmaceutical manufacturing areas, and other wet or hygienically sensitive zones. It is designed to protect concrete, polymer-reinforced screeds, mild steel, and water-resistant plywood from chemical corrosion, thermal shock, and mechanical wear.
Application Details:
URECO STS is applied using a gauge rake to the desired thickness (1/8", 3/16", or 1/4") and then back-rolled with a spiked roller to remove air and level the surface. Quartz aggregate must be fully broadcast into the wet surface. After curing, excess aggregate is removed by broom and vacuum. No primer is required for this system. The product must be applied by licensed applicators. Surface preparation is critical and must achieve an ICRI CSP 3–6 profile using mechanical methods such as shot blasting or grinding. The substrate must be clean, dry, and free of contaminants, with a moisture content not exceeding 10%.
Special Notes:
- Pot Life: Approximately 15 minutes at 25°C (shorter at higher temperatures).
- Cure Times at 21°C: Foot traffic in 6–8 hours, recoat and light wheel traffic in 8–10 hours, full service in 12–16 hours.
- Temperature Limits: Application temperature range is 5°C to 30°C. Service temperature range is -120°F to 220°F, with intermittent resistance up to 260°F (live steam).
- UV Resistance: Not specified as UV stable; topcoat with URECO TC or URECO XTC is recommended for enhanced chemical and UV resistance.
- Thickness Limits: Minimum 3 mm (1/8"), maximum 6 mm (1/4").
- Coverage: One unit covers approximately 36–38 sq. ft. at 1/4" thickness.
- Storage: Store between 15°C and 21°C in a dry, cool place. Shelf life is 12 months for resin and hardener, and 6 months for aggregate. Do not allow resins to freeze or aggregate to absorb moisture.
- Safety: Non-toxic, odorless, and does not require ventilation during application. Workers must wear appropriate PPE including gloves, goggles, and respirators if exposure limits are exceeded.
- Limitations: Do not apply below 5°C or above 30°C. Protect substrate from condensation and overhead leaks during application. Moisture vapor transmission should be evaluated prior to installation.
URECO STS, when used in conjunction with URECO TC or URECO XTC topcoats and optional URECO V cove base, forms a complete, high-performance flooring system suitable for the most demanding industrial and commercial environments.
