Description
URECO V is a heavy duty three component cementitious polyurethane system.
QUANTITY PER PACKAGING: 6 PC
Material Use:
URECO V is a three-component, trowel-applied, cementitious polyurethane system specifically designed for vertical applications such as coving and wall bases. It is engineered to provide high resistance to chemical and thermal attack, as well as superior abrasion resistance. URECO V is typically used in conjunction with URECO EG or URECO STS flooring systems to create a seamless floor-to-wall transition in demanding environments.
System Components:
URECO V is a complete system composed of three parts:
- Part 1: Resin
- Part 2: Hardener
- Part 3: Aggregate
The system must be mixed in full units using a forced circulation pail mixer. The resin and hardener are pre-blended for 30 seconds before gradually adding the aggregate to achieve a homogeneous mix (approximately 2 minutes of mixing time).
Applications:
URECO V is ideal for forming chemically resistant coving and vertical surfaces in environments requiring high durability and hygiene. It is commonly used in:
- Food processing areas
- Chemical processing plants
- Cook/chill and bottling areas
- Sanitize and wash zones
- Plant vehicle aisles
Application Details:
- Priming: All surfaces must be primed with either URECO P or ALSAN FLOOR EP101 to ensure proper adhesion. URECO V should be applied while the primer is still tacky.
- Application Method: Applied using a steel coving trowel at a thickness of 1/8 to 1/4 inch (3 to 6 mm). URECO Covebase trowels (4" and 6") are available for consistent application.
- Pot Life: 20 minutes at 25°C (shorter at higher temperatures).
- Cure Times at 21°C:
- Foot traffic: 6–8 hours
- Light wheel traffic: 8–10 hours
- Full service: 12–16 hours
- Service Temperature Range: -120°F to 220°F, with intermittent exposure up to 260°F (live steam).
- Coverage:
- 25–30 linear feet at 4 inches high per unit
- 16–20 linear feet at 6 inches high per unit
Special Notes:
- URECO V is odorless, non-toxic, and does not require ventilation during application.
- It is resistant to fungi and mold growth and meets Canadian Food Inspection Agency standards.
- The product is self-extinguishing and offers excellent performance under thermal shock conditions such as steam cleaning.
- URECO V must be top-coated with URECO TC or URECO XTC in wet environments or areas subject to high-pressure washing to enhance chemical resistance and durability.
- Application temperature must be between 5°C and 30°C, and substrate moisture content should not exceed 10%.
- The product should not be applied in high humidity or where condensation or leaks may affect the substrate during installation.
- Shelf life: 12 months for resin and hardener, 6 months for aggregate (in original unopened containers). Store between 15°C and 21°C in a dry, cool place. Do not allow resins to freeze or aggregate to absorb moisture.
- URECO V is not UV stable and should be protected with a suitable topcoat if exposed to UV light.
- Surface preparation is critical: substrate must be clean, dry, sound, and profiled to ICRI CSP2 using mechanical means.
System Compatibility:
URECO V is designed to be used as part of a system with URECO EG or URECO STS flooring systems. For optimal performance, it must be primed with URECO P or ALSAN FLOOR EP101 and top-coated with URECO TC or URECO XTC in demanding environments. This ensures a fully integrated, seamless, and durable floor-to-wall system suitable for industrial and hygienic applications.
