Vulkem 350R

Vulkem 350R is designed as a waterproofing membrane for horizontal and vertical surfaces. It is suitable for use on podiums, balconies, recreational areas, mechanical/plant rooms, lift/stair overruns, and roofs. While it can be used as a standalone membrane in areas not exposed to UV and without pedestrian traffic, it is ideally used as part of a system with compatible Vulkem top coats for enhanced protection and durability.

• Base Coat: Vulkem 350R
• Top Coats (UV-stable, polyurethane): Vulkem 951NF (two-component), Vulkem 346 (single-component), or Vulkem 351 (single-component)
• Primers (selected based on substrate conditions):
• Vulkem 171 Primer: For low-moisture porous substrates
• TREMprime EP: For poor finish substrates and tie-coat use
• TREMproof 200EC: For high-moisture concrete slabs (>4.5%)
• TREMprime Non-Porous Primer: For metal, PVC, and glass
• Vulkem 191QD Primer: Interlaminar primer for recoating
• Sealants: Dymonic 100 or TREMflex 50 (for crack/joint preparation)
• Aggregate (optional): TREMproof Aggregate for texture or slip resistance.

Used in external waterproofing scenarios, especially where compliance with AS4654.1 is required. It provides a waterproof, mildew- and fungus-resistant membrane for concrete or metal surfaces. It is ideal for new builds and refurbishment projects, especially where slip resistance or decorative finishes are needed.

• Mixing: Mix with electric paddle mixer at 500 rpm for at least 3 minutes
• Detail Coat Thickness: 1.23 mm WFT (wet film thickness) or 1.0 mm DFT (dry film thickness) when used without top coat; 0.93 mm WFT / 0.75 mm DFT with top coat
• Coverage (approximate):
• Without top coat: 0.81 m²/L or 12.16 m²/pail
• With top coat: 1.08 m²/L or 16.21 m²/pail
• Application Tools: Solvent-resistant roller (9.5–12.7 mm nap) or notched squeegee
• Substrate Moisture Requirement: Below 4.5% (unless TREMproof 200EC is used)
• Surface Temperature Range: 10°C to 40°C; ideal ambient range: 18–30°C at 50% RH
• Primer Required: Yes, primer selection depends on substrate moisture and type
• Pot Life / Open Time: Not specified (single component), but must be mixed before use.

• UV Stability: Vulkem 350R is not UV stable and must be top-coated with a UV-stable Vulkem product in exposed applications
• Humidity & Temperature Limits: Do not apply on frosty, damp, or wet surfaces; not to be used in submerged conditions or when minimum fall of 1:100 cannot be achieved
• Curing Times:
• At 18.3–29.4°C, cures in 4–6 hours
• At 12.8–18.3°C, 6–24 hours
• Below 12.8°C, 24–72 hours
• Thickness Limit: Specific film thickness is critical; do not over-apply beyond instructions to avoid blistering or pinholes
• Recoat Window: If recoating after 24 hours, surface must be cleaned with Tremco Xylol and reactivated with Vulkem 191QD primer
• Not Suitable For: Submerged applications, poor drainage areas, and direct UV exposure without top coat.
