Vulkem 351

VULKEM® 351 is a single-component aliphatic polyurethane top coat designed as a protective and aesthetic surface layer in Tremco waterproofing systems. It is primarily used on pedestrian decks, rooftops, and interior waterproofing areas.

• Base Coat: Vulkem 350NF
• Top Coat: Vulkem 351
• Recommended Aggregate: To create a skid-resistant finish
  These components form a complete waterproofing and pedestrian traffic deck system.

This material is suitable for:

• Pedestrian traffic decks
• Rooftop waterproofing systems
• Interior waterproofing projects
  It is typically applied as the final layer in systems requiring skid resistance, durability, and UV stability.

• Mixing: Though single-component, Vulkem 351 requires thorough mixing with a slow-speed, high-torque drill and jiffy-type paddle for 2–3 minutes before application. Avoid air entrapment by keeping the paddle submerged.
• Thickness & Coverage:
• At 15 mils (0.37 mm) WFT: 0.37 litres/m² coverage
• At 12 mils (0.3 mm) WFT: 0.3 litres/m² coverage
• Application Environment:
• Must not be applied to damp or contaminated surfaces
• Requires adequate ventilation
• Recommended drying conditions: 24°C at 50% RH
• Drying/Curing:
• Dry to touch: 6–8 hours at 0.37 mm
• Open to foot traffic: 24 hours after cure
• Pot Life: Not applicable (single component)
• Temperature Range: Minimum flash point is 29°C; no specific ambient temperature limits noted but should be above this point for safety.

• UV Resistance: Excellent — suitable for outdoor use
• Durability: High resistance to weathering, salt spray, mildew, fungus, and abrasion
• Adhesion Strength:
• Peel Strength to Vulkem 350NF: > 3 N/mm (ASTM C794)
• Pull-Off Strength: 1.5–2.5 MPa (ASTM D4541)
• Standards: Meets ASTM C957 and UL 790 Class A for non-combustible substrates when used in tested Vulkem systems
• Storage & Packaging: Supplied in 18.9 L pails or 208 L drums; available in multiple colors (Beige, Grey, Limestone, Maple, Slate Grey)
