Description
Pro Industrial Water Based Catalyzed Epoxy is an interior-exterior two component polyamine epoxy topcoat. Designed for use in commercial and industrial application.
Material Use:
Pro Industrial™ Water Based Catalyzed Epoxy is a high-performance, two-component polyamine epoxy topcoat designed for both interior and exterior applications. It is ideal for commercial and industrial environments where durability, chemical resistance, and early moisture resistance are required. This product is not suitable for flooring or roofing applications.
System Components:
This epoxy system consists of two pre-measured components mixed in a 4:1 ratio (Part A to Part B). It can be used as a standalone topcoat or as part of a multi-layer coating system. For enhanced exterior durability and aesthetics, it may be topcoated with Pro Industrial Water Based Acrolon 100. The system may also include primers and fillers depending on the substrate:
- Primer (for metal substrates): Pro Industrial Pro-Cryl Primer
- Filler/Surfacer (for masonry): Loxon Acrylic Block Surfacer, Pro Industrial Heavy Duty Block Filler, Kem Cati-Coat HS Epoxy Filler, or Cement-Plex 875
- Topcoat (optional for exterior aesthetics): Pro Industrial Water Based Acrolon 100
Applications:
This epoxy is suitable for use on properly prepared steel, galvanized metal, aluminum, concrete, masonry, wood, drywall, and previously painted surfaces. It is compliant with USDA facility requirements and is ideal for environments requiring chemical and abrasion resistance, such as manufacturing plants, warehouses, institutional buildings, and commercial interiors.
Application Details:
- Mixing Ratio: 4 parts Part A to 1 part Part B by volume

- Touch: 45 min (77°F)
- Handle: 4 hrs (77°F)
- Recoat: Min 6 hrs, Max 30 days
- Full Cure: 7 days
- Application Temperature Range: 50°F to 100°F (air, surface, and material); at least 5°F above dew point
- Relative Humidity Limit: Maximum 85%
- Application Methods: Airless spray, brush, or roller
- Airless Spray: 2000 psi, 0.015–0.017" tip, 60 mesh filter
- Brush: Nylon-polyester
- Roller: 3/8" woven solvent-resistant core
- Reducer: Water, up to 10% by volume if needed
- Recommended Film Thickness:
- Wet: 5.0–12.0 mils
- Dry: 2.0–4.9 mils
- Coverage: 134–328 sq. ft. per gallon per coat (based on application thickness)
- Theoretical coverage: 657 sq. ft./gal @ 1 mil dry
Special Notes:
- This product is not UV stable and will chalk and fade when exposed to exterior environments without a topcoat. For exterior use where aesthetics are important, apply 1–2 coats of Pro Industrial Water Based Acrolon 100 as a UV-stable topcoat.
- Not suitable for floor or roofing applications.
- All surfaces must be properly prepared and primed as required. For example, steel should be cleaned to SSPC-SP6 and primed within 8 hours to prevent flash rusting.
- For concrete and masonry, ensure surfaces are fully cured (minimum 30 days) and free of contaminants. Use appropriate fillers or surfacers to achieve a smooth substrate before applying the epoxy.
- All epoxies, including this one, are prone to chalking and fading in exterior environments if not topcoated.
- VOC content is less than 50 g/L, making it compliant with LEED v4/v4.1 and other environmental standards.
- Shelf life: 24 months for Part A, 36 months for Part B.
- Clean tools and equipment with soap and warm water immediately after use.
